Ingredients

Black millet (bajra) flour 1⅔ cup
Flour (aata) ¼ cup
Ghee 2 teaspoon
Oil ¼ teaspoon
Salt ¼ teaspoon or as per taste

Recipe

Preparation

  1. 1. In a deep bowl or vessel, add two-third of the black millet flour, flour (aata) and salt. Mix the contents well with using your hands.

  2. 2. To this mixture, add water in small portions. Knead the contents to make a soft dough.

  3. 3. Cover the dough with a cloth and keep it aside for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4. Make brinjal stuffing (baingan ka bharta) using its own recipe.

Cooking

  1. 1. Knead the dough again to get a non-sticky dough.

  2. 2. Divide the dough and into equal pieces.

  3. 3. Take one small piece and press it with your hand to give it round shape.

  4. 4. Make sure it is not much thick or thin. (Use the dry flour to remove the grease from the piece)

  5. 5. Roll the piece in the form of a chapatti to get round shaped piece. (Use dry flour so that the piece does not stick)

  6. 6. Heat the pan. When the pan is enough heated, place one rotla piece on it.

  7. 7. Cook one side of the rotla and then flip to other side and cook the other side as well on medium flame.

  8. 8. Now put the rotla directly on the open flame and cook the rotla till brown coloured spots appear on both sides of your rotla. (Remember to keep flipping the rotla so that it does not burst)

  9. 9. Make all the rotlas in the same way.

  10. 10. Your dish is prepared and ready to be served. Serve with brinjal stuffing (baingan ka bharta) or aamchoor chutney as per your choice.
