Ingredients

Flour (aata) 1½ cup
Oil 6-7 tablespoon
Salt ½ teaspoon as per taste
Semolina / sooji ½ teaspoon
Sugar ½ teaspoon

Preparation

  1. 1. In a deep bowl or vessel, add three-fourth of the flour, salt, semolina, sugar and a small amount of oil. Mix the contents well.

  2. 2. To this mixture, add water in small portions. Knead the contents till you get a smooth tight dough.

Cooking

  1. 1. Divide the dough into small pieces. Roll the pieces into small balls.

  2. 2. Take one small piece and press it with your hand to give it round shape. Make sure it is not much thick or thin.

  3. 3. Roll the piece in the form of a small chapatti to get a round shaped piece.

  4. 4. Heat the remaining oil in a kadai and add the poori to it.

  5. 5. Fry the pooris till they get fluffed and turn golden brown in colour on all sides.

  6. 6. Transfer the pooris into the serving plates.

  7. 7. Remove the excess oil from the pooris using paper napkins or kitchen towels.

  8. 8. Make all pooris in the same way.

  9. 9. Your dish is prepared and ready to be served. Serve with potato-tomato curry.
