Ingredients

Black pepper (powdered) ⅛ teaspoon
Carrot ½ medium
Coriander leaves ½ stick
Cumin seeds / jeera ¼ teaspoon
Ghee ¼ teaspoon
Potatoes ½ medium
Sago Pearls / Sabudana ⅛ cup
Salt ⅛ teaspoon

Preparation

  1. 1. Boil the carrot and potatoes. Chop them and keep them aside.

  2. 2. Soak the sago pearls in water (till the sago pearls are completely submerged) for about 20 minutes.

  3. 3. Chop the coriander leaves and keep it aside.

Cooking

  1. 1. Heat the ghee in a saucepan or kadai and add the cumin seeds to it.

  2. 2. When the seeds start to crackle, add carrots and potatoes to the mixture. Mix the contents well.

  3. 3. To the mixture, add sago pearls and cook the contents for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4. Add some warm water (till the khichadi is a little moist) to the mixture.

  5. 5. Cover the saucepan or kadai with a lid and cook the contents for 5-6 minutes.

  6. 6. Once the mixture is cooked, add coriander leaves, black pepper powder and salt to the mixture and mix the contents well.

  7. 7. Your dish is prepared and ready to be served.
